Along with the announcement of the acquisition of Sherpa Software, Gimmal has changed the branding of the Gimmal Altitude platform to Gimmal Discover and has added a fully featured eDiscovery module in addition to its current data governance capabilities. Gimmal Discover now has the capability to help IT and legal teams discover and gather content from email and content sources for litigation, public records requests, and data subject request. Gimmal Discover can interrogate Microsoft 365 locations such as Exchange, SharePoint, and OneDrive, Network File Shares, Box, Google Workspace, and even structured data sources.
Once a case or matter has been created and content is discovered, it can be gathered for litigation holds. If the content exists in Microsoft 365, it can also be place on litigation holds using Microsoft’s built-in capabilities.
Gimmal Discover has also added AI capabilities using Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing technologies. This first release of our AI module allows automatic detection of PII, which can be used for mitigation or to drive content classification into Gimmal’s records management platform.
